Swimming Victoria’s

Pho3nix Junior Excellence (JX) program

Swimming Australia's Pho3nix Junior Excellence (JX) program celebrates the achievements of swimmers aged 9–13, inspiring the next generation of competitors. Partnering with all states and territories, the program offers young swimmers access to elite role models, including national ambassador and Dolphin Jack McLoughlin. Swimmers receive recognition for their achievements through Swim Central and program merchandise. Participants aim for gold, silver, bronze, or blue standard times throughout the year, with swimming clinics available in every state and territory.

History of the Program:

Established in 2007, the Pho3nix Junior Excellence Program aims to recognize, reward, and motivate junior swimmers at various stages of their development. Each year, Swimming Australia sets the Pho3nix JX criteria and standards for the upcoming season, providing swimmers, parents, and coaches with clear targets.

Swimmers aged 9 to 13 who achieve times set by Swimming Australia can qualify for gold, silver, bronze, or blue standards, based on their top performances throughout the season.

Results from approved swim meets are entered into Swimming Australia’s Swim Central system, contributing to each swimmer’s overall award. At the end of the qualification period, Swimming Australia publishes the Pho3nix JX results on their website.
